Choose the Coaster Around the Venue

A cardboard coaster for a one-night launch has a different job from a slate set in a client gift box. Think about the drink, surface, expected lifespan, storage and cleaning. Hospitality venues may value easy handling and repeat supply, while a corporate set needs presentation and a finish that suits the recipient.

Materials Create Different Results

• Cardboard: lightweight and well suited to full-colour hospitality or event campaigns, with moisture life depending on use.
• Cork: naturally textured and light, with print or engraving options on selected products.
• Bamboo: gives a warm natural appearance and may be printed or engraved, with grain and colour variation expected.
• Glass and slate: create more substantial gift sets, but need careful handling and appropriate packaging.
• Rubber, EVA, PVC and flexible styles: suit bold artwork and practical promotional use, depending on construction.

Condensation, Heat and Cleaning

Not every coaster handles heat, moisture or cleaning products in the same way. Confirm the temperature guidance for hot drinkware and the product's response to condensation. Porous and natural materials can change with moisture, while printed surfaces may need gentle hand cleaning. A coaster protects a surface within its design limits; it is not vibranium armour for the dining table.

For venues, test the chosen coaster with the actual glassware and cleaning routine. Check whether stacked coasters dry properly and whether the shape works with stemware, mugs or larger bottles.

Print, Engrave or Create a Set

Full-colour printing suits glass, cardboard and selected rubber or flexible coasters. Laser engraving creates a tonal result on compatible bamboo, cork and slate. Pad print or screen print can work for simpler marks on selected materials. Texture and natural variation affect fine detail.
