Match the Page to the Task

A quick jotting pad, a weekly diary and an A2 desk planner solve different problems. Ask how much writing space the user needs and whether the item stays on a desk, travels to meetings or lives on a fridge. A small pad is easy to give away; a larger planner may become the centre of a team workflow. Check paper size, leaves, ruling, binding and whether a pen can be used comfortably on the page.

Dates, Paper and Repeat Orders

Dated products can become obsolete quickly. Check the year printed on every diary and calendar before ordering, particularly if the campaign crosses a year-end. A 2027 diary is a thoughtful gift in the lead-up to 2027 and a confusing one much later. For repeat orders, keep the exact page size, leaf count, paper specification and binding so the next run feels consistent.

For a planner, test the layout with a real week's work. Are weekends visible? Is there enough room for appointments or only a decorative date grid? If a pad will be used with a clipboard or folder, check dimensions together. Magnetic products need a compatible surface and should not be described as fitting every fridge or board. Presentation folders in this category are useful for handouts but are not writing pads.

Full-colour print can put a brand mark or useful prompt on each notepad leaf; selected diaries and covers may use other decoration methods. Leave generous writing space and keep dates, gridlines and note areas easy to read. Use the product's artwork template so binding, tear lines and trim do not swallow important information. Minimums and lead times vary by print, binding and dated stock. Approve every date, phone number and address in the final file, not just the logo. If distribution spans states or time zones, make the calendar and public-holiday assumptions explicit.
