Design for the Place It Will Stand
Start with the viewing distance and what the audience needs to do: find a doorway, recognise a sponsor, enter a stand or read a short offer. A pull-up banner works in a hallway or beside a desk; an A-frame can catch pedestrians near an entrance; a media wall creates a larger event backdrop. Measure the footprint, ceiling height and available fixing points before ordering. A magnificent three-metre display has limited value if the venue gives you a two-metre bay.
Formats in the Current Range
- Pull-up banners: Portable units in several widths, with cassette, print and carry case details checked per product.
- A-frames and boards: Useful for entrances and wayfinding, with insert size and weather suitability varying.
- Stretch media walls: Backdrops for photos, stages or stands; compare frame shape, fabric and available setup space.
- Flags and flyers: Vertical outdoor or event markers that need the right base, placement and wind guidance.
Artwork, Setup and Weather
Design at the supplier's template size. Allow for bleed, trim, seams, pole pockets and the part of a pull-up graphic that disappears into its cassette. Keep dates and essential calls to action high enough to see when people or furniture stand in front. Test QR codes from a realistic distance; a code that scans on your monitor may not scan from across a crowded foyer.
Outdoor use depends on the exact fabric, frame, base and conditions. Check whether a flag needs a ground spike, water base or weighted foot, and whether the venue permits it. A-frame placement may be governed by local rules. Do not assume every sign is waterproof or wind-rated because it sits in this category. Plan a dry run for assembly before volunteers arrive on event morning.
Make the Branding Work
These products are usually built around custom printed artwork. Colour, resolution, safe zones and file setup matter more than a generic logo placement. Use large, high-contrast text and one clear action. For accurate brand colour, share your Pantone references and review the supplier proof; lighting and print material can shift the appearance. Our printing processes guide explains the main methods. A free visual proof shows the proposed logo position on the item you choose.
Briefs We Would Build Around
- Exhibition stand: A media wall for the backdrop and a pull-up with one clear offer at the aisle edge.
- Community fundraiser: Wayfinding A-frames that direct arrivals without blocking the walkway.
- Shop launch: A flag or board sized for the frontage and approved for the local conditions.
Ordering and Related Products
Lead times differ by display system and whether print, hardware or both are ordered. Confirm the final venue measurements, base type, artwork deadline and delivery address early. Keep the frame model on record if replacement graphics may be needed later.
For a joined-up pack, compare event displays and print, trade show merchandise, badges and wristbands, lanyards and ID holders. Choose the combination around the recipient and how the items will be handed over; a matching colour alone does not make a useful kit.
Custom Banner and Signage FAQs
Can a pull-up banner graphic be replaced?
That depends on the exact cassette system. Confirm the frame model and replacement-print option before ordering a new graphic.
Are all banners suitable outdoors?
No. Material, frame, base and weather guidance are product-specific. Tell us the location and conditions so we can check suitable options.
What artwork is needed for a media wall?
Use the production template for the chosen frame and fabric, with safe zones, bleed and resolution checked at full size.
