Stainless vs plastic vs glass — what to pick
The three main bottle materials and where each works best:
- Stainless steel (insulated) — premium feel, keeps temperature, lasts years. Best for corporate gifts, staff packs and any time you want the brand to stick around. Higher unit cost but unbeatable per-impression value over the bottle's lifetime.
- BPA-free plastic — light, colourful, cheap. Best for sports events, schools, fundraisers and big giveaways where you need volume on a budget. Won't last as long as stainless but you'll get hundreds out for the price of a hundred stainless.
- Glass — sits in the premium gift space. Looks classy, feels weighty, can include silicone or neoprene protection. Best for wellness brands, executive gifts, or anywhere you want something a bit different.
Branding methods on drinkware
- Pad printing — the everyday workhorse. Crisp on curved plastic and ceramic surfaces. Best for simple one- or two-colour logos.
- Laser engraving — premium permanent finish on stainless steel. Etches the logo into the surface, never fades, looks high-end. Comes out as the metal colour underneath the powder coat.

Most drinkware starts at 50-100 units, with price-per-unit dropping fast above 250. Premium stainless lines sometimes have lower minimums (25-50) but cost more per piece.
